Years ago I was on a road trip from Alaska to Seattle and drove through a really remote stretch just after crossing the border. It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. There were stacks of rocks everywhere, and it was so neat. I now know that that's really bad form, but at the time, it felt ethereal and as we drove through the mist, I couldn't help but feel like we were going through a land of tiny fairy houses. Just like with stacking rocks, each of these earrings is a balance game to figure out which pieces work best with each other.
